N.J. Black leaders condemn racist text messages sent across the nation

New Jersey’s Legislative Black Caucus on Friday condemned anonymous messages that have been sent to Black people in many states, including New Jersey, about working on plantations.
The attorneys general of several states — as well as the FBI and Federal Communications Commission — have said they are investigating.
Throughout the week, Black people nationwide, including students, working professionals and children, have received anonymous text messages about slave catchers coming to find them and working on plantations.
